Hello and Happy February! In 2023, I resolved to start a blog to note what's going on in my life, the projects I am working on, travels, and more. A digital equivalent of a scrapbook or visual journal that I can look back on and feel proud of.
I may have missed January, but February is a delightful month to begin with. If you are close to me, you know that February brings my favorite holiday - Valentine's Day! I love love, and feel strongly that Valentine's day can be used to celebrate far more than strictly romantic relationships. Why not use the day as an excuse to do something extra special for your family or friends and show them how much you care?

Speaking of Valentine's Day, I would like to announce that I will be teaching my first-ever online workshop for SilverKite Community Arts, appropriately titled "Celebrating Valentine's Day". In the hour-long workshop, I will guide participants through making three different sizes of heart-shaped designs that can be used as cards, decorations, or even gift tags! Bringing candy to snack on throughout is strongly encouraged. If you are interested in attending the class, it will be taking place on February 11th at 10:30am PST on Zoom. You can learn more and register here: https://www.silverkite.us/online-workshops. The workshop is also FREE to attend!
Today, February 1st, marks a special milestone for SilverKite - 10 years in business! I am proud to say I have worked with them in several different ways (actor in three touring intergenerational productions and one interactive Zoom murder mystery show for the Washington State Activity Professionals Conference, as an assistant director, arts coordinator, social media manager, and now as their community relations manager!) for eight out of those ten years. I would like to extend a HUGE thank you to Jen Kulik, Ph.D. for believing in me, guiding me, mentoring me, and just for being a kickass CEO!
Also on the books is returning to performance art after taking a holiday hiatus. In February, I will be performing in two shows with Seattle Dinner Detective. If you aren't familiar, Dinner Detective is a form of interactive dinner theatre, partially improvised and partially scripted, that tells the story of a murder mystery. Before the big reveal guests are asked to vote on

who they think the killer is. It's a night full of food, fun, and laughter! If you are interested in seeing a show, you can purchase tickets here: https://www.thedinnerdetective.com/seattle/. I won't reveal what dates I'm performing, but if you do happen to see me - be courteous and pretend like you have no idea I'm an actor.
Additionally in the performance realm, I am delighted to be taking an "Auditioning for the Camera Workshop" with the amazingly talented Jodi Rothfield. This workshop will give me the opportunity to go through the audition process with a casting director and get immediate feedback. With the current industry leaning so heavily towards self-tapes, I'm very much looking forward to the techniques I'll be learning in this class.
This is just a sneak peek into what the month of February has in store! Some other projects include diving head-first into LA job apps, another social media campaign with AdoreMe, and a few new ventures for my day job with SilverKite. I'm also going to try to see my PNW friends and family as much as possible before moving to LA in April. Life is busy, but at least it's not boring!
See you next month!
